About our school
Who We Are
Welcome to Australian Swim School, where generations of families have entrusted us with the important task of teaching swimming skills and fostering a love for the water. Our story began in 1977 when John Bainbridge opened the doors to the first Australian Swim School in Fountain Valley, California. Driven by his passion for infant swimming and armed with a groundbreaking thesis on the subject, John introduced our trademark infant back floating method. With just a handful of instructors, we set out to educate the local community about the vital importance of water safety, particularly for infants and toddlers.
Our philosophy has always been the same. Embrace the wonders of infant and toddler swimming by starting little ones as early as three-months. Swim once a week in our progressive program that emphasizes correct technique from the beginning, and your little fish will be graduating from our swim squads as an accomplished swimmer with skills that will truly last a lifetime.
Our Mission Statement
Our goal is to instill a lifelong relationship with the water by providing developmentally-sound swimming instruction in a fun and safe environment. We will instill a lifelong connection with swimming by promoting a love of the water, building confidence in aquatic skills, and establishing a secure foundation for water safety and personal fitness. We will maintain our high-quality swimming instruction by keeping abreast of current child development trends, providing comprehensive training for our staff, and constantly reviewing our program for maximum effectiveness. We will provide outstanding customer service by keeping our customers informed, valuing our relationships with them, and making them feel welcome.
